Gotland travel facts:

- Ferries from Nynäshamn (close to Stockholm) and Oskarshamn (close to Kalmar) traffic the route between the mainland and Visby multiple times a day. Check Destination Gotland’s website for routes and tickets: https://www.destinationgotland.se/en

- You can also choose to fly to Visby, with multiple flights a day from the Swedish mainland.

- Once on Gotland, the easiest way to get around is to rent a car. It’s also popular to rent bicycles and ride around the island to experience its unique nature.

- Visit Visit Gotland's website (http://gotland.com/en/) for guides to Visby and the different parts of the island.

- Medieval Week 2018 will take place 5-12 August. It’s one of Europe’s biggest medieval festivals, and it’s a unique treat to experience Visby - a city over 1,000 years old - in the medieval spirit. http://medeltidsveckan.se/en/

- Want to spend even more time on Gotland? Uppsala University Campus Gotland is located in the heart of Visby and offers degree programmes during the year as well as summer courses. http://www.campusgotland.uu.se/?languageId=1
