Hello travellers. During our adventure in Portugal a freak electrical thunderstorm hit the Algarve region of Portugal, it’s southern riviera on Nov 1, 2015. The resulting flooding devastated the coastline, and one of the hardest hit places was the town of Albufeira. One of the prettiest areas in the Algarve, Albufeira is only a few hours drive or train ride from Lisbon, the capital. Tourists stream to the Algarve during the summer, but also well into the fall and many vacationers spend their winters here.

We take time out from a leisurely stay in the Algarve to show you the flood damage and talk to people in Albufeira about how this disaster has affected them.
